The Open World in Early Access

Destiny of Immortal (造化仙缘) ships Early Access with one complete storyline — the Luocha Island / Rakshasa Isle Demon Cultivator route — spanning a handcrafted open world with fog-of-war exploration, timed travel, and random encounters. The world map is not a cosmetic backdrop; every movement advances the in-game calendar by days, months, or years, triggering NPC schedule changes, cultivation progress, and random events. Your age counter ticks with travel, making map efficiency a hidden resource for Heavenly Foundation planners.

Three major directional routes branch from the mid-game Foundation period, each offering different NPCs, item acquisition paths, story flavor, and ending accessibility. This overview maps all three branches and links to region-specific guides for deeper exploration.

Starting Region: Xianyuan City Area

Every playthrough begins in Xianyuan City (仙缘城) and its surrounding territories — Liangyin Town, Liangyin Cave, and the southwest encounter zone. Chapter 1 covers this region exclusively. Key locations:

• Xianyuan City: Lingxi Pavilion quiz, Black Market map purchase, marketplace for Fireball Art
• Liangyin Town / Liangyin Cave: First major dungeon — Depths before Snake Den
• Southwest corner: Jiang Peipei and Liu Zhaoyao optional encounters

Purchase regional maps from Black Markets and use them from inventory to clear fog of war. Map reveals are permanent and essential for finding question-mark events. See Chapter 1 walkthrough.

Chapter 2 Hub: Yunhai Town to Ping'an City

Chapter 2 expands the map through Yunhai Town (云海镇), Demon Slaughter Cave (弑魔洞), and Ping'an City (平安城). The timed Yunhai quest grants permanent +1 Speed if completed within the deadline — a critical reward for Water builds. Ping'an City markets host traveling merchants selling element-matching techniques during the Blood Devouring Demonic Art arc.

After five months of world exploration, the story auto-transports you to Ping'an City and routes you toward the permanent directional split. Preparation before this transition determines your Heavenly Foundation material path.

North Route: Shanyin County (山阴郡)

The Shanyin County route heads north through Shanyin Pass (山阴关隘) into mainland territory. This is the community-recommended path for first playthroughs targeting Heavenly Foundation.

• Shanyin Pass: Liu Bohu ambush — the signature over-level Foundation fight while you are Qi Refining
• Liuyun Secret Realm (流云秘境): Dao Foundation Fruit from Liu Zhaoguang and Wang Yining encounters
• Liuyun City (流云城): Chapter 3 hub — Danxiang Pavilion, Lingxi Pavilion, Black Market, City Lord Manor
• Jianghuai City (江槐城): Deacon Hall quest farming, requires concealment before safe entry

South Route: Wuyin Sea (无垠海)

The Wuyin Sea route heads south across the ocean to overseas territories. Different narrative flavor, NPC roster, and companion options from the mainland path.

• Blood Luo City (血罗城): Primary southern hub with Blood Pill Hall, Blood Cultivation Hall, and ghost market vendors
• Ghost Market (鬼市): Wang Zhiyu sells Dao Foundation Fruit — buy only the fruit, not overpriced pills or manuals
• Blood Pill Hall (血丹房): Purchase nine Foundation Pills with spirit stones
• Blood Cultivation Hall (血功房): Buy Introductory Qi Foundation Art secret manual

Wuyin Sea requires significant spirit stone expenditure for Heavenly Foundation materials but offers unique story content and demonic overseas politics. Both routes converge toward Luocha Island's climax. See Luocha Island map guide.

West Route: Luoyun Mountains (落云山脉)

The Luoyun Mountains (落云山脉) branch heads west into mountain territory with distinct quest chains and exploration content. Community reviews flag this route as higher risk — certain story flags, if missed, can cap progression at Qi Refining in worst-case scenarios. The developer has acknowledged route-locking bugs on some paths in EA reviews.

Luoyun Mountains offers alternative NPC interactions and hidden plot discoveries for players seeking different narrative texture. However, first-time Heavenly Foundation planners typically choose Shanyin County for integrated material acquisition. Experienced players exploring for achievements and ending variety should research specific flag requirements before committing west.

All three routes are permanent choices. You cannot backtrack to switch directions mid-playthrough. Save with F8 before confirming your escape direction during the Chapter 2 route split event.

Travel Mechanics

World map movement uses click-to-travel with time costs displayed on hover. After Foundation Establishment, your character gains flight capability — same controls but crossing terrain obstacles and bypassing low-level random encounters. Flight dramatically improves travel efficiency for late-game farming loops.

Random encounters spawn during travel between major locations. Higher-realm enemies trigger suppression debuffs unless you carry counter pills. The monthly advance button in city interfaces advances time independently of travel — use it deliberately for cultivation progress, not accidentally before age-sensitive deadlines.

Map Tools and Fog of War

Every new region requires purchasing a regional map from local Black Markets. Using the map from inventory permanently clears fog in that area, revealing question-mark events, dungeon entrances, and NPC locations. Budget spirit stones for maps at each chapter transition — exploring blind wastes in-game months.

Concealment tokens from Liuyun City Black Market reveal hidden areas within secret realms. Buy regional maps for both the surface area and associated secret realms when available.
