Unlike games where you spam infinite health potions, Destiny of Immortal applies a shared resistance pool across all pill qualities. Understanding which pills to craft, when to consume them, and how resistance interacts with breakthrough windows separates smooth Heavenly runs from saves that stall at Shanyin Pass. Foundation Pills (筑基丹)

Foundation Pills (Zhù Jī Dān, 筑基丹) are the backbone consumable for Foundation Establishment breakthroughs. For Heavenly Foundation, community consensus and walkthrough documentation require nine Foundation Pills consumed in a single breakthrough attempt alongside other mandatory materials. Human Path and Earth Path breakthroughs may require fewer pills depending on your chosen dao base, but Heavenly planners should stockpile nine regardless of route.

Acquisition paths differ by map branch:

• Shanyin County route (north): Completing the Liuyun Secret Realm storyline auto-converts gathered herbs into multiple Foundation Pills upon exit — the most spirit-stone-efficient path for first playthroughs.
• Wuyin Sea route (south): Purchase nine pills at Blood Pill Hall (血丹房) in Blood Luo City. Spirit stone expensive but integrated into the overseas narrative.
• Alchemy crafting: Shennong Cauldron users craft pills from pocket-realm herbs; Shiling Pearl users loot or buy from merchants.

Foundation Pills also appear on the action bar during combat as emergency sustain in long boss fights, though their primary value is breakthrough consumption. Do not burn your Heavenly stockpile on random encounters — reserve all nine for the N-key breakthrough screen.

Dao Foundation Fruit (道基果)

The Dao Foundation Fruit (Dào Jī Guǒ, 道基果) is a unique breakthrough catalyst required exclusively for Heavenly Foundation. You need exactly one fruit per Heavenly attempt. Without it, the Heavenly Path option on the breakthrough screen remains locked regardless of how many Foundation Pills you carry.

Two primary acquisition methods mirror the north/south route split:

• Liuyun Secret Realm (Shanyin): Defeat Liu Zhaoguang (刘昭光) and Wang Yining (王依宁) inside the secret realm before exiting. The fruit is awarded automatically — no merchant purchase needed.
• Ghost Market (Wuyin Sea): Buy from Wang Zhiyu (王知鱼) in Blood Luo City's ghost market. Purchase only the fruit here; pills and secret manuals are overpriced at this vendor.

The fruit cannot be substituted with pills or alternative materials. Route choice is permanent, so plan your fruit source before committing to Shanyin or Wuyin Sea during Chapter 2.

Huan Tong Dan — Age Reduction

Huan Tong Dan (还童丹), also referenced in community guides as the Rejuvenation Pill (返老还童丹), reverses in-game aging by a fixed amount. This matters because Heavenly Foundation requires breakthrough before age 21. Your protagonist starts at age 14, giving a seven-year window — but inefficient travel, excessive optional grinding, and failed event chains can push you past the deadline.

Huan Tong Dan is an emergency fallback, not a primary strategy. Each pill costs significant spirit stones at mid-game merchants and consumes resistance like any other elixir. Players who need Huan Tong Dan typically wasted months in Chapter 1 side content or delayed the Shanyin Pass sequence. The cheaper approach: track your age counter monthly, prioritize main-quest travel over aimless map exploration, and breakthrough immediately after Liu Bohu when materials are ready.

Combat Pills: Blood Pressure and Beyond

Beyond breakthrough consumables, several pills define combat viability:

• Blood Pressure Pills (降压药): Remove Foundation-realm suppression debuffs. Mandatory for the Liu Bohu (刘搏虎) ambush at Shanyin Pass when you are still Qi Refining. Also useful against any over-level Foundation cultivator.
• Stamina recovery elixirs: Extend action-bar combos when Speed grants extra turns.
• Cultivation acceleration pills: Push Qi Refining layers faster during Chapter 1 farming windows.
• Healing pills: Sustain through secret realm attrition and demon lair clears.

All combat pills draw from the same resistance meter as breakthrough elixirs. Using six cultivation boosters before Liu Bohu may weaken your Blood Pressure Pill effectiveness — spread consumption across in-game weeks.

The Shared Resistance System

Every pill quality — common, mid-grade, upper-grade, and Profound-tier — fills one global resistance bar. When resistance peaks, additional doses provide diminished or zero benefit until time passes or detox mechanics trigger. This prevents infinite pill spam during boss attempts and forces rotation across elixir families.

Practical resistance management for Luocha Island:

1. Separate breakthrough stockpiles from combat stockpiles. Never consume Heavenly Foundation pills before the breakthrough screen confirms consumption.
2. Rotate pill types. Alternate cultivation boosters, healing elixirs, and combat buffs rather than spamming one recipe.
3. Time doses across months. The monthly advance button and travel time naturally decay resistance between major fights.
4. Leverage Shennong Cauldron diversity. Pocket-realm farming produces varied herbs, enabling broader recipe rotation than loot-only paths.
