Portal Array (Chuan Song Zhen)
Complete reference for the Portal Array transfer network introduced in 0.13.29-test: node activation, cultivation-tier gates, transfer costs, and merchant NPCs.
What is the Portal Array
The Portal Array is a network of giant spirit-stone steles that act as the backbone of world fast travel. The network was introduced in August 2026 by the 0.13.29-test build, with 86 steles spread across the world. To use a node, you must first visit it on foot and activate it locally.
Each stele is referred to as a Chuan Song Zhen (transfer stele). Merchants, crafters, and cultivators can use them by paying Lingshi as fuel.
Activation Procedure
- Travel on foot to the stele's activation radius.
- Choose "Activate" in the confirmation dialog — 100 Lingshi.
- The stele is permanently added to your continent map.
- From then on, you can travel from this stele to every other activated node.
Cultivation-Tier Gates
Higher-tier steles require a breakthrough before they can be used:
- Entry Steles — open from Qi Refining — villages and market towns.
- Greater Steles — open after Foundation Building — county capitals and realm entrances.
- Supreme Steles — open after Core Formation — sect headquarters and deep realms.
- End-game Steles — open after Nascent Soul — end-game regions and the final dungeon.
Cost Scaling
Transfer cost depends on distance and tier. Short jumps start at 25 Lingshi; long-haul end-game transfers reach 200. End-game and high-tier hubs cost less per unit distance because the design assumes weekly farming there. New players will spend early game time gathering Lingshi at the hotspots.
Transfer Merchants
A dedicated transfer merchant stands beside each stele. They sell cross-hub travel goods, repair and temper gear, and never close. They are reachable from the moment you arrive at the stele.
Combat and Transfer
Transferring during combat can be interrupted. Wait for the 0.5 s cast animation before re-casting. Transfer cost still applies during combat; if your last Lingshi is spent, the transfer fails.
All Stele Locations
- Qi Refining: 12 nodes
- Foundation Building: 22 nodes
- Core Formation: 28 nodes
- Nascent Soul: 16 nodes
- End-game: 8 nodes (incl. Heavenly Gate)

Transfer on High-Difficulty Profile
High-Difficulty Profile adds +25% to transfer cost, but cultivation-tier gates respect nodes you have already unlocked on a Standard playthrough. See High-Difficulty Profile guide.
