Metal Element Overview

Metal (Geng Metal / 庚金) is the premier single-target burst damage element in Destiny of Immortal Early Access. Where other elements win through attrition, shields, or speed chains, Metal deletes enemies in one or two optimized turns. If your goal is killing Foundation Establishment cultivators while still in Qi Refining, clearing Liu Bohu ambushes, or shaving boss phases before dangerous abilities trigger, Metal is your element.

Metal's identity is high spell attack stacking. Every Dantian piece, cultivation technique, equipment roll, and combat buff should funnel into maximizing damage per Energy point spent. A fully optimized Metal build achieves 110+ damage per Energy on its primary spell — enough to one-shot targets the game expects you to struggle against.

Core Techniques

Early Game (Qi Refining)

• Geng Metal Divine Art (庚金神诀) — survival-oriented 4-point cultivation technique; solid defensive option for learning Metal mechanics
• Golden Battle Art (金戈诀) — aggressive alternative when you are confident in dodging via speed or armor
• Steel Needle Art (钢针术) or Fine Needle Art (细针术) — 3-point primary damage spells; upgrade to Steel Needle when available
• Iron Armor Art (铁甲术) — 3-point defensive spell for survivability during over-level attempts

Mid Game (Foundation Establishment)

• Golden True Art (金真功) or Exquisite Treasure Classic (玲珑宝典) — replace starter cultivation arts; both amplify Metal spell damage significantly
• Golden Spear Art (金枪术) — the Metal cornerstone; stack to 80+ base damage in Dantian layout
• Canjin Art (灿金诀) — guaranteed drop from Liu Bohu; essential Metal scaling technique
• Golden Spirit Swift Sky Art (金灵疾空术) — steal from Liu Bohu via Shiling Pearl soul search; top-tier mobility and damage option

Dantian Layout Strategy

Metal Dantian puzzles prioritize spell attack resonance chains. Place your 4-point cultivation technique centrally, flanked by Golden Spear Art and a Metal damage buff spell. Connect generating (相生) links between Metal pieces and merging (相融) tiles that boost spell attack modifiers.

Avoid overcoming (相克) placements that penalize Fire or Wood pieces adjacent to your core Metal spells — even utility tiles can accidentally trigger penalties. Reserve one Dantian slot for a universal spell like Fireball Art (火球术) for situations where you equip attribute-less techniques like Blood Devouring Demonic Art (噬血魔功).

Target numbers: 80+ base damage on Golden Spear Art before external buffs. With combat buffs active, push per-Energy damage past 110. Every layout revision should ask: does this tile increase my burst damage this turn?

Equipment & Accessories

Metal scales with spell attack (术攻) on weapons and accessories. Prioritize spell attack rolls on your main weapon; secondary stats include crit chance and Energy cost reduction. The Juntian accessory set (钧天套) from Jiang Peipei's Chapter 3 event amplifies burst damage and works excellently with Metal's playstyle.

For weapon recommendations, save Qian Kun Sword (钱坤剑) for hard fights — it burns spirit stones for devastating output. Use sustainable weapons for regular farming. Metal cultivators with Shiling Pearl should aggressively steal equipment from stronger NPCs to accelerate gearing.

Combat Rotation

Metal fights are short. Open with your highest-damage buff spell, then fire Golden Spear Art or your primary nuke. If the target survives, evaluate whether a second burst is available or if you need Iron Armor Art defensively. Against Foundation Establishment enemies during Qi Refining, consume a Blood Pressure Pill (降压药) to negate realm pressure debuffs before engaging.

Speed is not Metal's natural strength, but killing in one turn eliminates the problem. When speed fails, use Iron Armor Art and defensive cultivation arts to survive the enemy's turn, then burst on your next action. Metal loses fights that drag past three turns — end it fast.

Shiling Pearl Synergy

Metal pairs exceptionally with Shiling Pearl (噬灵珠) soul search. Foundation cultivators carry Metal techniques unobtainable elsewhere. Soul-search targets in the Shanyin route for Golden Spirit Swift Sky Art and high-tier buff spells. Stealing beats grinding quest rewards for technique quality.

Shennong Cauldron (神农鼎) works but does not amplify Metal's strengths as directly. Pills help survivability; Metal wants stolen techniques and spell attack gear.
