High-Difficulty Profile Guide

Mechanics, rewards, recommended builds, and Portal Array strategy for the High-Difficulty Profile and weekly challenges introduced in 0.13.29-test.

What is High-Difficulty Profile

High-Difficulty Profile is an opt-in profile slot introduced in 0.13.29-test. When you create a character you can pick Standard or High-Difficulty. On High-Difficulty, enemy HP is +50% and damage taken is reduced by 30% from the player's perspective; enemy aggro range also widens. Rewards are +75% XP, +50% drop rate, exclusive achievements, and limited cosmetics.

How to Start

  1. Title screen "Create new character" > "Profile selection" > "High-Difficulty".
  2. Confirm dialog — you cannot revert to Standard.
  3. Starting gear is identical to Standard, but merchant prices are +25% for High-Difficulty characters.

New Difficulty Challenges

On High-Difficulty you unlock New Difficulty Challenges — six weekly missions on the server board:

  • Untouchable Run: reach Foundation Building without dying. Reward: title "Unblemished Beginner".
  • Speed Run: Foundation Building within 90 minutes. Reward: 3 Portal Array unlock vouchers.
  • No-Merchant Run: reach Core Formation without buying from merchants. Reward: 500 Lingshi.
  • Solo Realm Clear: clear Green Forest alone. Reward: cosmetic "Forest Cloak".
  • Tier Chain: Qi to Core in 24 h. Reward: 1 Deity Artifact Shard.
  • Perfect Lineage: complete 5 legacy missions. Reward: mount "Spirit Crane".

Recommended Builds

Survivability is the priority, so a +20% HP body cultivation build or a +15% crit sword build is the standard. From Qi Refining onward, keep a shield and a disengage skill; in realms, prioritize defense buffs.

Portal Array Synergy

High-Difficulty Profile can use the Portal Array, but transfer cost is +25%. In return:

  • Transfer merchants sell the "High-Difficulty Pack" — 20% off consumables.
  • No Lingshi lost on failed transfers (auto-insurance).
  • Bonus chest on each tier-gate breakthrough.

Death and Recovery

On Standard, death costs 5% of carried goods; on High-Difficulty the cost is 15%. Holding three Stoic Heirloom tokens makes death a zero-loss event. Tokens come from weekly challenges or can be purchased for 1,500 Lingshi.

Equipment Choices

On High-Difficulty, base stats beat element match-ups. Smithy-tempered gear is steadier than realm loot. Plan to chase Deity Artifacts after Core Formation.

Social Play

High-Difficulty characters can party together for a +10% XP bonus. Mixed parties (Standard + High-Difficulty) are not allowed. The game provides a High-Difficulty-only bulletin board and trade channel.

Wrap-Up

High-Difficulty is about pacing — do not brute-force the first run. Use Standard to learn the systems, then take High-Difficulty on a second character. Activate the Portal Array early for much smoother farming — start with the Portal Array quick-start.
