What This Tool Does

The Breakthrough Checker is a checklist utility for the most important decision in Early Access: whether your save qualifies for Heavenly Foundation (天道筑基). Heavenly Path grants stat bonuses that dwarf Human, Blood, and Earth alternatives and unlocks superior Golden Core routes later. Missing requirements does not soft-lock the story, but it permanently caps your power ceiling for the 25–30 hour Luocha Island arc.

In-game, press N to open the breakthrough panel — green checkmarks confirm each requirement. This wiki tool lets you track progress offline, plan farming routes before Chapter 2, and catch age deadlines before they become expensive Rejuvenation Pill emergencies.

How to Use the Checker

1. Enter your current age. The protagonist starts at 14. Heavenly Foundation requires breakthrough before age 21 — a seven-year in-game window that shrinks with every month you spend on optional exploration.
2. Toggle inventory items. Mark whether you hold nine Foundation Pills (筑基丹), one Dao Foundation Fruit (道基果), and the Foundation secret manual Introductory Qi Foundation Art (引气筑基诀).
3. Set cultivation progress. Confirm Qi Refining Layer 9 with a full progress bar. Partial Layer 9 does not qualify.
4. Select your route. Shanyin County (山阴郡) integrates materials into Liuyun Secret Realm quests; Wuyin Sea (无垠海) requires Blood Luo City purchases. The checker adjusts acquisition hints based on your path.
5. Review the summary panel. All five requirements must show ready before you press N in-game and select Heavenly Foundation — the bottom option on the breakthrough screen.

Full Requirement Breakdown

1. Nine Foundation Pills (筑基丹)

Stack nine pills before attempting breakthrough. Shanyin route players convert herbs from Liuyun Secret Realm events; Wuyin Sea players buy from Blood Pill Hall (血丹房) in Blood Luo City. Alchemy-focused runs with Shennong Cauldron can craft additional pills — see our Alchemy guide.

2. One Dao Foundation Fruit (道基果)

Shanyin County: defeat Liu Zhaoguang and Wang Yining in Liuyun Secret Realm. Wuyin Sea: purchase from Wang Zhiyu (王知鱼) in the ghost market — buy only the fruit there; pills and manuals are overpriced at that vendor.

3. Foundation Secret Manual (筑基秘法)

Introductory Qi Foundation Art (引气筑基诀) from Shanyin quest rewards or Blood Cultivation Hall (血功房) on the southern route. Without the manual, Heavenly Path stays locked regardless of pill count.

4. Age Under 21

Calendar time advances through travel, cultivation, and the monthly advance button. If you exceed 21, a Rejuvenation Pill (返老还童丹) can lower age — but planning ahead saves spirit stones and story stress. Track months during Chapter 1 so Chapter 2 Heavenly prep stays on schedule.

5. Qi Refining Layer 9 at Full Progress

Grind cultivation events, pills (watch pill resistance), and story breakthroughs until Layer 9 bar fills completely. Do not confuse Layer 9 partial progress with eligibility.

After All Checks Pass

1. Press F8 to quick-save.
2. Press N → verify all green checkmarks in-game match this tool.
3. Select Heavenly Foundation (天道筑基) — bottom option.
4. Survive the inner demon sequence and choice events.
5. Proceed to Chapter 3: Core Formation with flight unlocked and Foundation-period stat scaling.

Alternative Paths

If Heavenly Foundation is no longer achievable, Human Path (人道筑基), Blood Path (血道筑基), and Earth Path (地道筑基) remain viable for all Luocha Island endings. They trade stat ceiling for simpler material gates. Use this checker to decide whether to pivot early rather than wasting years chasing an impossible Heavenly window.
