Chapter 2 Overview

Chapter 2 covers the Foundation Establishment (筑基) period — the most mechanically consequential chapter in Destiny of Immortal EA. You progress through Yunhai Town, Demon Slaughter Cave (弑魔洞), Ping'an City (平安城), and the Shanyin Pass (山阴关隘) ambush while preparing for Heavenly Foundation (天道筑基), the highest-quality breakthrough. Every decision here affects your stat ceiling for the remaining 15+ hours of the Luocha Island arc.

Yunhai Town Arc

1. Woodcutter guide event: Do not kill the woodcutter at the start.
2. Timed quest: After receiving the "go to Yunhai Town" quest, travel in the indicated direction within the time limit. Reward: +1 permanent Speed — critical for Water builds.
3. Yunhai Town map: Obtain and use the regional map to clear fog of war.
4. Marketplace siblings: Give money to help the siblings, then complete Zhu Pengfei's rescue event. Reward: Hidden Spirit Art (隐灵诀) — exceptional Speed technique.
5. Jiang Peipei follow-up: Help her for additional rewards and Juntian set access later.

Demon Slaughter Cave & Blood Devouring Demonic Art

Trigger Gao Changning's quest first, visit Ping'an City markets (buy techniques from traveling merchants matching your element), then pursue Lu Yifei's event:

1. Enter Demon Slaughter Cave (弑魔洞) at Qi Refining level 9.
2. Find Lu Yifei (鲁一飞) — choose pretend agreement, then kill him. He is injured; manageable without Blood Pressure Pills.
3. Equip Blood Devouring Demonic Art (噬血魔功) — grants up to +150 maximum HP permanently, even after swapping cultivation arts later.
4. Clear all cave monsters, maximize the HP bonus, then swap back to your element's cultivation art.

During Blood Devouring Demonic Art usage, only attribute-less spells work. This is why you bought Fireball Art in Chapter 1.

Heavenly Foundation Requirements

Heavenly Foundation (天道筑基) is the best breakthrough type, granting stat bonuses far exceeding Human Path, Blood Path, or Earth Path alternatives. Requirements:

• Nine Foundation Pills (筑基丹)
• One Dao Foundation Fruit (道基果)
• Foundation secret manual (筑基秘法) — Introductory Qi Foundation Art (引气筑基诀)
• Age under 21 at breakthrough (protagonist starts at 14)
• Qi Refining level 9 with full cultivation progress

If age exceeds 21, purchase a Rejuvenation Pill (返老还童丹) to reduce age. Plan your in-game calendar carefully — wasting months in optional exploration can cost your Heavenly Foundation eligibility.

Route Split: Shanyin County vs Wuyin Sea

The escape route choice defines your Foundation preparation path:

North — Shanyin County (山阴郡) [Recommended]

• Follow main quest into the Liuyun Secret Realm (流云秘境)
• Before leaving the secret realm, defeat Liu Zhaoguang (刘昭光) and Wang Yining (王依宁)
• Automatically receive Dao Foundation Fruit (道基果)
• Exit secret realm; herbs auto-convert into multiple Foundation Pills
• Foundation secret manual from quest rewards or Liuyun City content

South — Wuyin Sea (无垠海)

• Travel to Blood Luo City (血罗城)
• Buy Dao Foundation Fruit from Wang Zhiyu (王知鱼) in the ghost market — buy only the fruit here, not pills or manual (overpriced)
• Buy nine Foundation Pills at Blood Luo City's Blood Pill Hall (血丹房)
• Buy Introductory Qi Foundation Art at Blood Cultivation Hall (血功房)

Warning: This choice is permanent. Shanyin route integrates fruit and pill acquisition into story progression; Wuyin Sea requires significant spirit stone expenditure but offers different NPC interactions and story content. See Chapter 3 for what follows each route.

Shanyin Pass: Liu Bohu Ambush

After five months of world exploration, you auto-travel to Ping'an City. Prepare before entering Shanyin Pass (山阴关隘):

• Full health with healing pills stocked
• At least one Blood Pressure Pill (降压药) — removes Foundation realm pressure debuff
• Best available equipment and techniques equipped

Liu Bohu (刘搏虎) ambushes you at the pass entrance. He is a full Foundation cultivator while you are still Qi Refining — the game's signature over-level fight. With proper preparation, he is beatable. Metal builds steal Golden Spirit Swift Sky Art (金灵疾空术); all builds receive Canjin Art (灿金诀) as a guaranteed drop.

Foundation Breakthrough

When all Heavenly Foundation requirements show green checkmarks on the breakthrough screen (press N key):

1. Ensure Qi Refining level 9 with full progress bar
2. Verify age under 21
3. Confirm nine pills, one fruit, and secret manual in inventory
4. Press N → select Heavenly Foundation (天道筑基) — the bottom option
5. Consume all materials; survive the inner demon sequence and choice events

Heavenly Foundation grants massive stat increases. You can now fly, instantly kill Qi Refining enemies, and access Foundation-period content. Proceed to Chapter 3: Core Formation.
