Treasures That Rewrite Your Run

At universe birth, a handful of Treasures of Creation (Zào Huà Zhì Bǎo) formed—sentient, indestructible artifacts that drift between destined cultivators. In Destiny of Immortal, your entire Early Access identity branches from which treasure accepts you at character creation. The Steam store page states each treasure enables a "completely different start, shaping how you cultivate and how your power grows." The Luocha Island arc assumes one of two EA options: the predatory Shiling Pearl (Shì Líng Zhū, 噬灵珠) or the logistical Shennong Cauldron (Shénnóng Dǐng, 神农鼎).

Both treasures share a common rule: spirit stone activation. You spend spirit stones—earned from hunts, quests, and bounty boards—to unlock and upgrade artifact abilities. Stones therefore act as a second resource bar alongside pills and cultivation base. Misallocating stones early can delay your first soul search or stunt cauldron harvests, so treat activation fees as build commitments, not incidental costs.

Shiling Pearl — Predation and Knowledge Theft

The Shiling Pearl path embodies the " seize everything" fantasy advertised in pre-release coverage: kill cultivators, strip their knowledge, and walk away with techniques that normally require sect favor or decades of study. Official materials highlight three core functions tied to pearl activation:

• Soul Search (Sōu Hún, 搜魂): After defeating eligible NPCs or bosses, soul search extracts their gongfa and spells directly into your collection. This feeds the Dantian puzzle pool faster than lawful learning but carries relationship and prestige penalties documented in our NPC Relations guide.
• Skill Theft (Miào Shǒu Kōng Kōng, 妙手空空): The "empty hand" ability steals equipment, pills, and treasures from targets—sometimes without lethal combat if stealth and speed builds align. Theft triggers stronger NPC hostility than soul search alone.
• Spirit Devouring Cultivation: The pearl converts slain beings into cultivatable energy, accelerating realm progression when you maintain a steady kill pipeline. This synergizes with Blood Path Foundation and demon-route story beats on Luocha Island.

Post-Foundation, marketing copy notes a suppression fantasy: higher realms can eliminate Qi Refining enemies with minimal interaction, and pearl users lean into that gap by farming weaker cultivators for technique diversity. The pearl does not solve Dantian space limits—you still need thoughtful resonance layouts—but it solves acquisition bottlenecks that stall lawful players.

Pearl Risks and Trade-offs

Abusing soul search and theft collapses goodwill with factions, reduces prestige, and can lock you out of learn/request interactions precisely when Profound manuals appear in sect shops. Hell difficulty amplifies action-point pressure, making pearl reliance on stolen pills more attractive but socially expensive. Pearl cultivators should alternate predation with gift-giving or quest assistance to rebuild prestige before major learn checks.

Shennong Cauldron — Pocket Realm and Alchemy Engine

The Shennong Cauldron offers the opposite contract: slower explosive theft, stronger long-term infrastructure. Activating the cauldron opens a portable pocket realm with cultivatable spirit fields and mineral veins. Herbs and ores regenerate over in-game time, supplying the alchemy system with the diversity needed to manage shared pill resistance.

Official descriptions emphasize "steady resource accumulation" and "nurturing spirit plants to make rare elixirs routine." Mechanically, cauldron users spend spirit stones to:

• Accelerate crop and ore cycles instead of waiting full in-game months.
• Expand field plots as realm progression unlocks cauldron tiers.
• Improve yield quality on alchemy inputs, raising craft success rates.

The cauldron does not remove combat requirements—Luocha Island still demands Dantian mastery—but it removes herb scarcity as the primary progression throttle. This aligns with Earth Path and Heavenly Path Foundation grinds where you need large pill stacks without ruining resistance on a single recipe.

Cauldron Risks and Trade-offs

Cauldron players lack early access to Profound techniques via theft, so Dantian power spikes arrive later unless you invest heavily in NPC learning and sect quests. Secret realm farming remains mandatory for manual recipes the cauldron cannot generate. You also compete for spirit stones between field acceleration and any combat consumables purchased from merchants, requiring tighter budgeting than pearl users who steal supplies outright.

Spirit Stone Activation Economy

Both treasures consume spirit stones (líng shí, 灵石) to activate active abilities and passive upgrades. Stones drop from spirit beasts, quest payouts, bounty boards—modified by prestige—and merchant trading. Early EA pacing assumes you activate your treasure multiple times per in-game year: pearl users before boss attempts for soul search windows, cauldron users each harvest cycle for acceleration.

Activation is intentionally priced to force choices. Blow stones on pearl soul searches before you secure Heavenly Foundation materials and you may lack cauldron-equivalent pill stockpiles down the line—even pearl users buy from merchants sometimes. Conversely, cauldron players who hoard stones for farming but skip combat consumables can fail gear checks despite lush herb gardens.

Realm milestones occasionally reduce activation costs or unlock new treasure tabs—watch breakthrough notifications after Foundation and Golden Core for new buttons in the artifact UI.

Choosing and Committing

Treasure selection is permanent for a given playthrough. The developer plans additional Treasures of Creation for future storylines—press kits reference artifacts like the Hongmeng Pearl and creation axes tied to wholly separate character arcs—but Luocha Island EA locks you into pearl versus cauldron at start.

Choose Shiling Pearl if you want aggressive cross-realm clears, technique variety through theft, and demon-route roleplay with accepted social consequences. Choose Shennong Cauldron if you want alchemy-driven Heavenly Foundation, sustainable pill rotation, and a farming loop that respects resistance mechanics.
