Equipment Fundamentals

Destiny of Immortal divides gear into three primary categories: weapons, armor, and accessories. Unlike the Dantian puzzle system where techniques define combat abilities, equipment modifies your underlying stats — spell attack, armor, shield retention, Speed, critical rate, and Energy economy. A perfectly resonant Dantian layout still underperforms if your weapon lacks spell attack or your armor cannot survive Liu Bohu-level burst damage.

Equipment enters your inventory through quest rewards, merchant purchases, treasure chest save-scumming, Deacon Hall blood debt missions, and — for Shiling Pearl users — direct theft from NPCs. Chapter 3 is the primary gearing window where set bonuses and graduation weapons define your Core Formation power spike. Weapons

Weapons are your primary spell attack source. Roll priority depends on element:

• Metal and Fire: Stack spell attack (术攻) and critical chance. Burst builds need maximum single-hit damage on weapons.
• Water: Speed and Energy cost reduction matter alongside spell attack for multi-turn chains.
• Earth: Prioritize armor on weapons where available, but spell attack remains relevant for counter-damage scaling.
• Wood: Spell attack plus sustain stats; Wood relies on outlasting rather than one-shotting.

Early standout: Thunderbolt Sword (霹雳剑) from Liangyin Cave Depths chests — 0 Energy cost, 14 damage once per turn. Save-scum chest opens in Chapter 1 until it drops.

Qian Kun Sword (钱坤剑)

Qian Kun Sword (Qián Kūn Jiàn, 钱坤剑) is the graduation burst weapon for Chapter 3 boss fights. Unlike sustainable farming weapons, Qian Kun Sword consumes spirit stones per activation for devastating damage output. Treat it as a boss-killer reserved for Dragon Turtle, Deacon Hall elite quests, and late-game Luocha Island encounters — not everyday grinding.

Metal and Fire builds benefit most from Qian Kun Sword's burst profile, but every element should carry one before attempting gear-check bosses. Pair with Blood Pressure Pills and healing elixirs since spirit stone expenditure adds to your combat economy pressure. Armor

Armor provides flat damage reduction and shield retention — critical for Earth builds and any player attempting over-level fights. Key armor sources:

• Jiang Peipei stolen set (Chapter 1/3): Ambush her events and claim her equipped armor. Among the best early-to-mid armor bonuses, especially for Earth shield builds.
• Deacon Hall blood debt quests: Complete full equipment set rewards from Jianghuai City Deacon Hall missions.
• Secret realm chests: Random armor drops with varying quality tiers.

Accessories

Accessories typically provide secondary stat boosts — critical rate, spell attack, Speed, or set bonus triggers. They complement weapons without replacing the Dantian's technique-based damage scaling. Accessory farming peaks in Chapter 3 alongside weapon upgrades.

Juntian Set (钧天套)

The Juntian accessory set (Jūn Tiān Tào, 钧天套) is the premier accessory collection for burst and multi-hit builds. Obtain through Jiang Peipei's Chapter 3 storyline — trigger her encounter with 300+ spirit stones in inventory, complete the quest chain, and claim set pieces. The set amplifies burst damage and synergizes with Metal single-target deletion, Water multi-hit chains, and Fire AoE scaling.

Community guides note you can also steal Jiang Peipei's worn equipment for additional armor bonuses beyond the Juntian set reward. Shiling Pearl users with Divine Thief talent accelerate this acquisition path. Earth builds benefit from Juntian's counter-damage scaling even though their primary defense comes from armor slots.

Do not delay Juntian acquisition — entering Core Formation without set bonuses makes late-game Luocha Island content significantly harder. Plan the Jiang Peipei encounter immediately after obtaining concealment methods in Liuyun City.

Equipment by Acquisition Method

Quest Rewards

Main storyline and side quests distribute guaranteed equipment at key beats. Liu Bohu drops Canjin Art (灿金诀) technique and combat loot. Liuyun City Lord Manor rewards include crafting recipes and sword techniques alongside equipment-adjacent items.

Merchant Purchase

Black markets in Xianyuan City, Yunhai Town, Ping'an City, and Liuyun City sell baseline weapons and accessories. Traveling merchants in Ping'an City stock element-matching techniques and occasionally equipment during the Demon Slaughter Cave arc.

Theft and Soul Search

Shiling Pearl users steal equipment directly from NPCs. Divine Thief talent (recommended for Earth) accelerates armor acquisition. Soul search extracts technique knowledge, not equipment — but defeating soul-search targets often yields lootable corpses with gear. See Soul Search & Steal guide.

Deacon Hall Farming

Chapter 3 Deacon Hall quests in Jianghuai City spawn Foundation-early enemy groups with equipment drops. Save before accepting quests since difficulty varies per roll. Blood debt mission chains reward complete equipment sets.

Gearing Timeline

Chapter 1: Thunderbolt Sword, Jiang Peipei armor (optional), basic marketplace weapons.

Chapter 2: Upgrade weapons after Liu Bohu loot. Equip best available before Heavenly Foundation breakthrough.

Chapter 3: Juntian set, Qian Kun Sword, Deacon Hall set completion, highest-tier element techniques paired with optimized gear rolls.

Late game: Refine accessories for Core Formation and Nascent Soul breakpoints. Equipment quality gates which enemies you can over-level fight versus which require full Dantian optimization.
